Hello Friends,
Thank-you all so much for your thoughtful comments on my recent Spoonflower Blog Post - I really enjoyed reading your comments (and it was very reassuring to know my photography tips made some sense - lol :)

To-day I thought I'd share a sneak peek of my newly designed Fabric Collection: 'Faded French' : featuring simple 'mix and match' palettes in Blue, Green and Brown :)

I'm also expecting a fabric delivery from Spoonflower (any day now - fingers crossed) so I hope to post some fresh fabric photos, featuring my latest 'Linen Look' designs very soon - Yay :)

Spring Blossoms on Silk!

I received my first sample of the new Silk Crepe de Chine fabric from Spoonflower today.

Whooo hooo !!!!

Whoo hooo, I woke up early today, to see my Magnolia fabric design had placed 5th (out of 105 fabulous border fabric designs) in the Spoonflower Fabric of the Week contest : Thank-you sooooo much to all who voted :)

Water Colour Weekend

It's lovely to be in Sydney BUT ... I'm so missing my studio at home on the Gold Coast !!! 

So on Friday afternoon, I decided to pop into an art shop (just for a look!) ... Well you know how it goes, I couldn't resist buying some new watercolours ... so this weekend I can now sit in the sunshine sketching and painting some new designs .. Yippee :)

All wrapped up in my winter woolies .... lately I've been dreaming of Summer :)

Making the most of the winter school holidays I've also started sewing a new quilt 
- to co-ordinate with my 'Easy As - Headboard Slipcover' 
I must admit however, as much as I long for Summer, it's great to be indoors sewing, with a mug of hot chocolate and the i-pod set to shuffle :)

Is it really the weekend ... ?

Is it just me, or did last week seem to fly by more quickly than usual?

Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my new "Rag Quilt" 
I'm thinking my next sewing project could be a traditional square quilt (Yes I could be addicted to quilting already) / but I'm also loving this little: "Spring Look Bag" featured on the Wonderful: Sew, Mama, Sew Blog 
...... and then there are the nieces to consider, who have now decided they would like rag quilts of their own ... lol

What a week!

What a week it's been here at Kristopher K!

Good Morning Sunshine

As winter approaches and the days (and nights) grow colder here on the Gold Coast Australia, it was lovely this morning to just relax, and enjoy the warmth of a lovely Autumn sun.
As waves danced and sparkled in the light and sea birds circled overhead, I felt a million miles away from the stresses and responsibilities of daily life ... 
It's always so good to take 'time out' to relax, rest and rejuvenate ;)


ahhhh .... bliss :)

Saturday Sunshine

Today on an overcast Saturday I'm sure the sunshine appeared, from behind the clouds, just so I could photograph Spoonflowers new Organic Cotton Sateen: For as soon as I'd clicked the following photos it disappeared again.

This is the first time I've sampled the new bright white, Organic Cotton Sateen - and I can describe it in one word: LOVE

This 100% organic cotton fabric, is beautifully soft, with a lovely silky lustre and is Certified organic cotton by: Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS)

Where does the time go?

I can hardly believe it's the middle of the week already.

There was however, a lovely surprise in my inbox yesterday:

The fabric for my new quilt has been printed and has shipped from Spoonflower ... I can hardly wait ;)

Also this week I started reading a new book:

"Driving over Lemons" by Chris Stewart

... and only a few pages in, I was already laughing out loud (LOL)

I purchased my copy from Borders books ... after reading the following synopsis:

"Driving Over Lemonsis that rare thing: a funny, insightful book that charms you from the first page to the last... and one that makes running a peasant farm in Spain seem like a distinctly good move. Chris transports us to Las Alpujarras, an oddball region south of Granada, and into a series of misadventures with an engaging mix of peasant farmers and shepherds, New Age travellers and ex-pats. The hero of the piece, however, is the farm that he and Ana bought, El Valero - a patch of mountain studded with olive, almond and lemon groves, sited on the wrong side of a river, with no access road, water supply or electricity. Could life offer much better than that? 'An idyllic life in a remote, sunny part of Europe is a fantasy normally punctured by harsh realities, and abandoned. Chris is made of sterner stuff. And the really good bit (as I'm soooo enjoying this book) is that this is Book One of The Driving Over Lemons trilogy - so I guess I have my reading list set for some time :)
